Pallarenda Deck
Project requirement and objective
A residential home located in a picturesque neighbourhood wanted to add a comfortable outdoor area on an upper deck. The homeowners wanted a result that was stylish and open span to capture magnificent views of the forest and the refreshing breezes.
The challenge was to design a space that would could tolerate large spans as there were no internal columns to support the roof lines. The homeowners also wanted a functional, visually appealing, while still providing the necessary protection from the North Queensland elements.
Onsite Challenge
While the installation process seemed straightforward, the installation team faced onsite challenges that needed to be addressed to ensure a successful outcome. The location of the house had limited access to the house which made it challenging to transport the panel to the site.
Solution provided
The homeowners consulted with the team at Norfoam® who suggested installing a Nordeck® 150mm insulated roof panels in a fly over design. The design provided the necessary insulation and protection from the heat, sun and rain, while allowing the homeowners to enjoy the magnificent views and refreshing breezes of the area. The flyover style of the roof added an elegant and stylish touch to the outdoor living area, making it a focal point of the property.
To address the installation of the product the team had to work with the homeowner to create a temporary access route to transport the panels to site. This involved using specialised equipment to transport the panels safely from the delivery truck to the roof.
Project Outcome
Nordeck® insulated panel was a great product choice for this type of project. Nordeck® is a light weigh insulation panel that assists with making an installation process simpler than conventional building supplies. The flyover style of the roof added an elegant and style touch to the property, while the Nordeck’s insulation qualities provides year-round comfort and protection of the elements. The homeowners now have a comfortable and functional space that adds value and curb appeal to their home.
